Description

In the Fall of 2022, Chase Nun᷉ez entered GCU’s inaugural class for the Pre-Apprenticeship for Electricians pathway where he immediately thrived. He excelled both in the classroom, in hands-on labs, and quickly distinguished himself as a top performer. Chase's dedication and skill led to him achieving the highest rank for the PEJATC Union placement. He was proud to be a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union 640, and cherished his role within the Sturgeon Electrical family. Chase was a true leader, known for leading by example and always being willing to help others. His humble and friendly nature made him well-liked by all who met him. This scholarship is awarded to individuals who not only demonstrate Chase’s strong work ethic, but also embody his integrity and character.

Scholarship Details

Award Amount:

         First Place: 50% tuition scholarship

         Second Place: 25% Tuition Scholarship

         Third Place: Red Wing Work Boots

         Eligibility Criteria: Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Pre-Apprenticeship Electrician Program.

         Must exhibit a strong passion for the electrical trade and a commitment to learning.

         Preference will be given to students who embody Chase’s values of kindness, humility, and a strong work ethic.

 

Application Requirements:

1.      Completed Scholarship Application Form, page 1 only.

2.      Video Interview Clip (3-5 minutes) answering the following prompt: Chase was known for his dedication, humility, and passion for his trade. Please give an overview of who you are, your passions, hobbies, what makes you excited, what drives you, and what you will do with this scholarship and why.

3.      Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, employer, or mentor who can speak to your character and work ethic.

         Application Deadline: March 28th

         Selection Process: Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee, and recipients will be notified by April 11th.
